Which Finchley size should I choose?

Small for a light day, an evening, or a smaller frame. Medium for everyday commuting, which is where most people land. Large for travel, gym clothes, and the days you carry everything. If you're between two, take the larger one: a roll top can be rolled down to sit smaller, but a small bag can't be made bigger.

How big is the Finchley Large?

The biggest of the three, at 13.4 x 5.7 x 17.7 inches and 22.2 liters, sized for travel, gym clothes, and long days. It takes a laptop up to 15 inches in its padded sleeve, with room left for a change of clothes, shoes, and lunch. If you mainly carry a laptop and a lunch, the Medium (15.2 liters) is usually the better buy.

Is the Finchley waterproof?

Weather-resistant, not waterproof, and the roll top helps more than people expect: rolling the closure over several times puts multiple layers of canvas between the weather and your things at the most vulnerable point. Rain on a commute isn't an issue. Sustained heavy rain is not what any fabric backpack is for.

What is the difference between the Finchley and the Canfield?

Both are roll tops, so the difference is material and feel. The Finchley is built from a thick recycled canvas that holds its shape and stands up on its own. The Canfield comes in a wider set of fabrics and feels a little softer. If you want structure, look at the Finchley first.

Does the Finchley hold a laptop?
